Are you going to make it? You do realize this project is entirely done in the developers own free time? The Cod4 userbase that runs on macOS is too small too make it worth developing for right now (3%).
Either a developer has to run macOS himself and be willing to port it, or the client has to be open-sourced so anyone can do it (which will sadly not happen, not anytime soon anyway). First you are wrong the day i upgrade the server from 1.7a to 1.8 i have more than 10 players asking for solution for mac also by this way you are killing the game day after day most clans will use 1.8 because less hackers there but also they will have to lose best members/admins/players who use mac.and the game maybe has few players and mac players turn into new game.Not fair for them i think. Dude, I am not wrong.
It's about 3% of the Cod4 playerbase (I think Fraggy mentioned it sometime). That is not a lot at all. No one is holding anyone back of making a macOS version, the current developers are just not going to do it.
I understand why you want it, just as I want a Linux version, but it's just not going to happen without a proper macOS and/or Linux developer. However in gaming in general, the userbases are comparable. MacOS still beats Linux, but not by much anymore. It's however possible to run Cod4 (and thus Cod4X) in Wine on both macOS and Linux.
I made a quick tutorial for it although it's mostly focused on Linux right now. It should however be adaptable to macOS by just changing the directories.
Hi folks, I just registered to this forum to support the need for Co4x on Mac OS X as well. I've been playing CoD since the first game on various computers, always Apple ones, and now I'm asked to install another OS because I can barely find a good server that I can play MW on?? I'm sure Mac OS X users form a very small community of players, but releasing a mod that most good servers are going to use without making it available for the 2nd OS on the market is a bit of a mistake. I'm sure it took hours and hours of precious time to make and a lot of good will and generosity, but at the moment it does make some harm as well. If Infinity Ward had done that, there would have been riots. We bought that game guys, we gave our money so we could play. At the moment I can rely on a couple of servers that don't ask for it but it's a matter of time before we can no longer play.
Thanks anyway for making the game develop further and providing a better game experience. I'm not a developer myself, at least not in this area, but I think I understand the difficulties you mentioned. I don't understand why you were able to go through those steps for windows but not for the other OS though. The thing is, I'm pretty sure your code helps a lot of people, but people who don't own windows can't play a game they bought for their mac.
It is absolutely ridiculous. We are the proud owners of a game we used to enjoy a lot and can't anymore. Like if OS and hardware were not enough limitations when you work on Macs, now developers decide to make you even more f.ed.

Well, I guess if Aspyr can't provide the ressources you need, there's no need to argue. Let's all find tons of free disk space, buy and install windows, buy the game again, and enjoy it for a while until someone with goodwill tries to help and makes it unusable again. NOTE this assumes you already have a b3 mysql data base I have often been asked how I installed b3 and cod4x and got them working if this is going to be a complete install of b3 and mysql read Mysql for dummies like me WINDOWS only I started with a working b3 and cod4 server before updating the b3 and to cod4x I run both b3 and the cod4x server on a windows 7 enterprise version computer. Please do not ask about other operating systems because I have no idea on them.
Well I started by using the windows version of b3 but soon found I could not use the cod4x.py plugin since the windows version does not contain a plugins directory. So I had to switch to. If it does not show type path to make sure c: python27 is actually in the path if its not there use google to see how to add it to your path on your operating system. After you set the path drop to a command prompt again and type python again hopefully it works this time.
You must also install MySQL-python just run it and it will install and allow b3 to run. If you want to regenerate b3.xml you can invoke the setup procedure with the command: b3run -s b3.xml I then made a b3start.bat file and installed it in the main b3 directory (mine is d: b3-1.9.2) with this in it. B3run.py -c /b3-1.9.2/b3/conf/b3.xml once I saw that it was working (the b3 window run up) I shut it down and put the cod4x.py parser in the parsers directory. Is it for b3 admin gourp lvl? Like 20-40-60-80-100? If its not, what value should I put it in? You've said to set it in 10 in another post But in this post you've said 24 My b3 is working but I'm just a little curious to know the first post was from cod4x.me on the setting of 10 in this post I stated in my cod4x config file I added these lines which had 24 listed mainly because I have different groups then what comes with B3 (I did not take that into account when I made that post) and since I did not want anyone'!command hidden below group KAB which is 25 I set the level to 24. So the guest,moderator, reg,and user will not be hidden all else will be hidden.
